时任云南省长的唐继尧于1922年邀请刘沛泉等来昆，组织航空处、航空队，设航校。辟巫家壩教场为机场，购美、法等国飞机。1929年云南航空队从北海至昆明，创下当时全国最长航线记录，设有三条省内航线。1937年抗战爆发，航空队迁南京，併入中央航空队。

　　In 1922,Tang Jiyao, governor of Yunnan Province,invited Liu Peiquan and others to Kunming organized the Aviation Department
　　and a flight team ,founded an Aviation school and built Wujiaba Airport. They purchased aircraft from the U.S and France. In 1929,
　　the Yunnan flight team flew from Beihai in Guangxi to Kunming,the longest flight in China at time. When the Anti-Japanese
　　War broke out in 1937,the team was transferred to Nanjing and merged with the Central Air Force.
